This week: Termite Mounds
Next week: John Smith
Dear Maggie Partners:
People often inquire of Maggie’s Earth Adventures, “For what level is www.missmaggie.org designed?” The short answer is we are geared toward the K-6th grade student. However, we have found our material actually addresses a much broader range of cognitive levels, often finding success with emergent readers as well as middle school children. Obviously many factors influence just how much your students are getting from the program but the bottom line is you are the best judge of whether or not any given Weekly Activity Packet or Maggie activity is appropriate for your learner. We hope offering a primary and intermediate activity will allow for differentiation but that may not always work, every week, with every topic in every classroom. We are grateful our program is supported so enthusiastically by all of our educators, and we thank you for sharing Maggie’s Earth Adventures with your friends, family, and colleagues.
This week we return once again to Africa. In fact, you are sure to see a lot of activities out of Africa this year for many reasons. First, my trip to the country provided me the opportunity to collect a lot of interesting information and photographs; the diversity in Africa really lends itself to the multi-disciplinary program we are offering you here at Maggie’s Earth Adventures; and finally, I’m just wild about Africa!
