Sensory Integration

In our Dear Colleague letters we often talk about classroom management and differentiation.  Let’s integrate these two areas so near and dear to all our hearts and discuss sensory integration, a need we see often in our classrooms.  While we may have students who exhibit characteristics of needing support with sensory integration, we may not always officially label it, which is fine as many of the techniques help all children. Suffice to say many of our children who appear to be hyperactive really have a sensory integration need. By setting up our classes to avoid time-outs and sitting still, we are differentiating.  For more on this topic make sure you are receiving our free Weekly Activity Packets
