Last week I spent a few days with Maggie’s Earth Adventures’ Executive Producer and travel partner, Mason, checking out the 39th Annual Head Start Conference in Tennessee. And although Nashville may be best known as an epicenter for music, I’m singing its praises for how great the food was! Walking around the conference center networking with all my colleagues regarding the importance of early childhood education, didn’t quite wipe out all effects of that sinful home-style cooking!
As always, I am amazed and re-energized every time I attend an education conference, both by the deep passion of our fellow teachers and access to all the exciting new ideas, programs and paraphernalia out there designed to inspire our students. This week in my Dear Colleague letter I focus on the important role real photos play in reaching our kids. I believe Facebook founder, Mark Zuckerberg and I share a common interest in the power of the photograph, judging from his recent purchase of Instagram, the fledging photo sharing application, for 1 billion dollars. How I wish our bank accounts had more in
common!
