Happy Mother’s Day to all you hardworking moms out there who in and out of the classroom provide those essential tools our children need to make a positive contribution to our world. Based on my busy travel history it shouldn’t surprise any of you that I took Mother’s Day on the road and am enjoying a brief respite in the glorious state of Vermont! I couldn’t ask for a better way to celebrate being a mom.
“I don’t want to make money; I just want to be wonderful.” Marilyn Monroe’s idealistic perspective on the almighty dollar is one of my favorites but sadly impractical. Yet, the earlier we educate our children on the importance of managing money, the more wonderful their life will be! This week we have some great activities which will reach your children in a relevant way while infusing math skills and an important social studies component, economics. Share with us here any unique ideas your students might come up with for stretching their dollars!
