Halloween @ Maggie’s Earth Adventures Not so Scarey!

We’ve got lots of great stuff but let’s face it, we do not have the corner on the market for trick-or-treating material and we’re all being inundated right about now.  Which made me think, what observance or event do you feel is being under represented as we head into the holiday season?  We pride ourselves on being current and adaptable too.  So, let us know if you have any clever ideas for Weekly Activity Packet topics that may be found exclusively at www.missmaggie.org.

All of us wish you and your students a happy and safe All Hallows Eve. Welcome your tired and jacked- up-on -candy kids back into the classroom on Thursday, November 1st by commemorating National Author’s Day with this week’s Weekly Activity Packet.  Profiling an author and title near and dear to our heart, this year celebrates the 50th year anniversary of the release of   “Silent Spring” by Rachel Carson.   More than a book, “Silent Spring” is often credited for galvanizing the American public into embracing environmental protection for the first time.   Carson was a trailblazer as are all of our Maggie partners for introducing our program into the classroom to help our children recognize early on the importance of their role in protecting and preserving our environment.
