Students will read an informational text about Dr. Daniel Hale Williams, an important African American heart surgeon who not only improved medicine and surgery but also worked to integrate the medical community. In a follow-up activity, they will provide details to support three main ideas of the text and draw a conclusion about Dr. Williams.
